Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour
  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 medium onion

Instructions

  1. Soften yeast in warm water.
  2. Combine sugar, salt, butter, and milk in a large bowl.
  3. Cool the mixture to lukewarm.
  4. Stir in egg and yeast mixture.
  5. Gradually add flour to form a stiff dough.
  6. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and satiny, about 5 minutes.
  7. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until light and doubled, 1 to 2 hours.
