Cheesy bread appetizer features crispy slices filled with melted Monterey Jack cheese, infused with garlic and Parmesan, perfect for sharing at parties or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf unsliced Italian bread
  • 8 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Melt the margarine in a small saucepan.
  2. Add Parmesan cheese and garlic powder to the melted margarine, stirring well.
  3. Slice the Italian bread almost all the way through into 1-inch slices.
  4. Brush the margarine mixture on both sides of the bread.
  5. Slide a piece of Monterey Jack cheese into each crack of the bread.
  6. Bake on aluminum foil in a preheated oven at 450°F for 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.
