Ingredients

  • 16 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 2 1/2 to 3 lb. ground beef or turkey
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans meatless Italian sauce
  • 1/2 lb. kielbasa sausage sliced thin
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups large curd cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 12 oz. mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 12 oz. Old English cheese sliced
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions and drain.
  2. Cook ground beef or turkey, crushed garlic, and chopped onions in a large saucepan for 10 minutes.
  3. Add Italian sauce, sliced kielbasa, water, and salt; mix well and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese and beaten eggs.
  5. Grease a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch baking pan.
  6. Layer cooked lasagna, sliced mozzarella cheese, meat sauce, and cottage cheese mixture, beginning with lasagna and ending with meat sauce.
  7. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 to 55 minutes.
