Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark sweet canned cherries, drained

Instructions

  1. Blend cheese with butter, flour, and salt; then roll out the dough.
  2. Cut the dough into 2-inch squares.
  3. Place 1 tablespoon of drained cherries in the center of each square.
  4. Fold over the corners to seal the cherries inside, forming a turnover.
  5. Place the turnovers on a cookie sheet and bake at 375°F until lightly browned.
