Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, self-rising flour, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger.
  3. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter and sugar mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  4. Stir in vanilla and nuts until well combined.
  5. Pour batter into a tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°F (163°C), or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
