Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon mace
  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Cream the butter with the sugar, egg, vanilla, and mace until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Gradually blend in the flour mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  4. Stir in the chopped walnuts.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto greased baking sheets, allowing space for spreading.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 15 minutes, or until cookies are very lightly browned.
  7. Remove from oven and transfer to wire racks to cool.
