A light and fluffy cherry cream dessert featuring crisp saltines, chopped nuts, and creamy whipped topping, perfect for gatherings and those craving a sweet, crunchy treat.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg whites
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. broken saltines
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 pkg. Dream Whip
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites until frothy, then add cream of tartar and sugar and beat until stiff.
  2. Add vanilla to the egg whites.
  3. Gently fold in broken saltines and chopped nuts.
  4. Butter an oblong dish or pan and spread the mixture in it.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until tan in color, then cool.
  6. Refrigerate if necessary before serving.
