- Melt the butter.
- Stir in sugar and crushed pretzels; reserve 1 cup of crumbs for topping.
- Press the remaining pretzel mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan to form the crust.
- Beat softened cream cheese until smooth; then beat in powdered sugar.
- Fold Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the pretzel crust.
- Top with half of the cherry pie filling.
- Repeat with the remaining cream cheese mixture and cherries.
- Sprinkle the reserved pretzel crumbs on top.
- Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours before serving.
