Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Put butter or margarine and brown sugar in a saucepan on low heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cool the mixture.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, and stir well.
  5. Add vanilla and mix.
  6. Add sifted flour combined with baking powder and stir well.
  7. Add chopped nuts and stir.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
