- Bone the cooked chicken and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Mix the cream of chicken or mushroom soup with the sour cream.
- Layer half of the chicken in a greased 9x9 or 9x11 baking dish.
- Spread half of the soup and sour cream mixture over the chicken layer.
- Repeat with the remaining chicken and soup mixture to create a second layer.
- Coarsely crush the saltine crackers and toss with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cracker crumbs evenly over the casserole.
