Tips & Substitutions

To enhance flavor, consider marinating the chicken in Italian herbs for a few hours before cooking. If you don't have heavy cream, you can substitute it with half-and-half or a mixture of milk and butter. For a lighter version, try using chicken thighs instead of breasts. Pair this dish with a side of garlic bread to soak up the delicious sauce.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Chicken Neapolitan over a bed of pasta, such as fettuccine, for a hearty meal. It pairs well with a fresh garden salad and a glass of white wine. For an Italian-inspired feast, consider serving alongside Italian White Bean Soup or garlic bread for a complete dining experience.

Storage & Reheating

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, place the chicken and sauce in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of cream or broth to prevent drying out. Heat gently until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts?

Yes, boneless, skinless chicken thighs can be used as a substitute. They will provide a slightly richer flavor and remain moist during cooking. Just adjust the cooking time as needed to ensure they are fully cooked.

What can I use instead of fresh parsley?

If you don't have fresh parsley, you can substitute with fresh basil or oregano for a different flavor profile. Dried herbs can also be used, but remember to use less, as they are more concentrated in flavor.

Can I make this dish ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the chicken and sauce ahead of time. Simply reheat gently before serving. However, it's best to cook the chicken just before serving for optimal texture. If preparing in advance, store the chicken and sauce separately.
