Ingredients

  • 1 fryer chicken
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 large can milk
  • 1/2 can chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 lb cheese
  • corn tortillas

Instructions

  1. Boil the fryer chicken; remove meat from bones and save the broth.
  2. Blend the cream of chicken soup, milk, and chicken broth together to make the sauce.
  3. Dip the tortillas in hot Crisco oil until slightly softened.
  4. Layer a portion of tortillas in the bottom of a casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle chopped onion, grated cheese, chopped green chilies, and chicken pieces over the tortillas.
  6. Pour some of the sauce over the layered ingredients.
  7. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of sauce on top.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) until bubbly, about 20 to 30 minutes.
