Chicken Under Foil
Juicy chicken and colorful vegetables cook together under foil, creating a flavorful, easy-to-make meal perfect for outdoor cooking or quick dinner solutions.
Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast ⓘ
- 1 medium potato, sliced into 1/8-inch slices ⓘ
- 1 medium carrot, thinly sliced ⓘ
- 1 medium yellow squash, thinly sliced ⓘ
- 1 stalk celery, chopped into 1/4-inch pieces ⓘ
- 1/4 bell pepper, sliced ⓘ
- 1 small onion, sliced ⓘ
- 4 fresh mushrooms, whole ⓘ
- 5 or 6 fresh pea pods ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon butter
- salt and pepper to taste ⓘ
Instructions
- On a large sheet of aluminum foil, place the chicken and all vegetables in the center.
- Wrap up the ingredients securely, forming a good seal.
- Repeat this process two more times, ensuring all packets are well sealed.
- Place the foil packet directly on hot coals of a fire.
- Cook for 15 to 20 minutes on each side, turning occasionally.
- Remove from fire and carefully open the foil.
- Eat the meal directly from the foil.
