Ingredients

  • 2 c. raisins
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. sifted plain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. pecan chips

Instructions

  1. Cook raisins in water for 5 minutes, then drain well and cool.
  2. Cream together the Crisco and sugar.
  3. Add beaten eggs and vanilla to the creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in the cooked raisins.
  5. Sift together the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  7. Fold in the pecan chips.
  8. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto a greased cookie sheet, about 1 1/2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in a 350°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Remove cookies from the pan immediately after baking.
