Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, ground pork, beaten egg, uncooked rice, milk, chili powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Form the mixture into small balls.
  3. Brown the meatballs in hot oil or fryer until golden.
  4. Combine canned tomatoes, water, chopped onion, salt, and remaining chili powder in a pot.
  5. Bring the tomato mixture to a boil.
  6. Drop the browned meatballs into the boiling mixture.
  7. Cover and cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours.
