Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 small cans green chilies
  • 2 cups sharp cheese grated and divided
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped garlic together.
  2. Grease an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking pan.
  3. Place one can of green chilies on the bottom of the prepared dish.
  4. Top with 1-1/2 cups of grated sharp cheese.
  5. Add the cooked meat mixture over the cheese layer.
  6. Place the second can of green chilies on top of the meat mixture.
  7. In a bowl, beat together the eggs and flour.
  8. Add milk and seasonings, then pour the mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
  9. Top with the remaining cheese.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until golden and set.
