Ingredients

  • 3 (No. 303) cans sliced beets
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked, sliced beets
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 24 whole cloves
  • 3 tablespoons catsup
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups beet juice

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a saucepan, including the beets.
  2. Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
  3. Let cool before serving.
  4. Store in refrigerator.
