Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. spareribs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup shoyu sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • garlic
  • ginger

Instructions

  1. Bring the shoyu sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Add the spareribs to the boiling mixture.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer the spareribs for 45 minutes until tender.
  4. Add 1/2 cup pineapple syrup to the pot.
  5. Thicken the sauce with cornstarch dissolved in water, then add pineapple chunks before serving.
