Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 ounce bitter chocolate, grated

Instructions

  1. Blend together all ingredients until smooth.
  2. Place the batter in a well-buttered bread pan.
  3. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 50 to 55 minutes.
  4. Let stand about 10 minutes before unmolding.
  5. Cool before slicing and serving.
