Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In an ungreased 2-quart pan, mix flour, sugar, and cocoa.
  3. In a small bowl, mix milk, melted butter, and vanilla; add to the flour mixture and stir with a fork until smooth.
  4. Stir in chopped pecans and spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa.
  6. Pour very hot water over the batter without stirring.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes.
