Chocolate Decadent Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate wafers
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp Kahlua
  • 1 3/4 cups heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, crush the chocolate wafers and add melted butter.
  2. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie plate and freeze for 1 hour.
  3. In a double boiler or microwave, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips until smooth.
  4. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and add Kahlua.
  5. Gradually add the melted chocolate to the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  6. Whip 1 3/4 cups of heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.
  7. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently.
  8. Pour the filling into the prepared crust and chill until set, about 2-3 hours.
  9. Whip the remaining 1 cup of heavy cream and garnish the pie before serving.
