Ingredients

  • brown sugar

  • margarine
  • walnuts
  • whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Combine vanilla, cake mix, brown sugar, and powdered sugar.
  2. Sprinkle about 3/4 cup of walnut mixture in each of 4 ungreased 9-inch round cake pans, pressing lightly into pans.
  3. Prepare cake mix according to package directions; pour batter over walnut mixture in prepared pans.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Remove layers from pans immediately and let cool completely.
