  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and eggs in a large bowl; beat until smooth.
  3. Add syrup and mix thoroughly.
  4. Cut 1/2 cup butter into the batter and mix well.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  8. Prepare Raspberry Cream Center and spread it evenly over the cooled cake.
  9. Cover and refrigerate until chilled before serving.
