Tips & Substitutions
For a lighter version, consider using olive oil instead of margarine. If you don't have fresh parsley, dried parsley can work in a pinch—just use about one-third of the amount. You can also swap out the ground turkey for ground chicken or a plant-based protein for a vegan version. Ensure the bread is well soaked to maintain moisture in the patties.
Serving Suggestions
These patties are delicious served over a bed of rice or alongside mashed potatoes. Pair them with a fresh salad, such as Broccoli Salad from Roswell, New Mexico, for a complete meal. You might also enjoy a light white wine to complement the flavors of the dish, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Storage & Reheating
Store leftover patties and sauce separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm the patties in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave until heated through. The sauce can be reheated on the stovetop; add a splash of water if it thickens too much.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this recipe ahead of time?
Yes, you can prepare the patties in advance and store them in the refrigerator for up to a day before cooking. This allows the flavors to meld. Just ensure to cook them thoroughly before serving.
What can I use instead of brandy?
If you prefer not to use brandy, you can substitute it with apple cider vinegar or a splash of white grape juice for a similar flavor profile without the alcohol. Just add it to the pan after sautéing the onions.
Is it possible to freeze the patties?
Absolutely! You can freeze the uncooked patties. Just place them in a single layer on a baking sheet until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag. They can be cooked from frozen; just add a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
