Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup shortening

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder together into a bowl.
  2. Add eggs and shortening.
  3. Mix well until batter is smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking dish.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
