Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. diced pork
  • 1 1/2 lb. diced beef
  • 6 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 large bunch chopped celery
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 can drained bean sprouts
  • 1 (2 oz.) can drained mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Brown the diced pork and beef in a pan.
  2. Add soy sauce and 1 cup of water, then simmer.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and celery, and continue simmering for 1 1/2 hours.
  4. Blend cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and add to the mixture to thicken.
  5. Add sliced water chestnuts, drained mushrooms, and bean sprouts; heat through.
  6. Serve over rice or chow mein noodles.
