Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups seasoned croutons
  • 1 1/2 pounds pork sausage
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 10 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
  • 4 oz. can mushrooms, drained
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Spread croutons in a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Cook sausage until well browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well.
  3. Sprinkle cooked sausage over the croutons.
  4. Combine eggs, milk, cream of mushroom soup, drained mushrooms, and dry mustard; mix well.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and croutons.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  7. Remove from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake uncovered at 325°F (160°C) for 50 to 55 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
