Ingredients

  • 16 slices English bread, crusts removed
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups corn flakes, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Place 8 slices of bread on the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese and diced ham.
  2. Cover with the remaining bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Before baking, top the casserole with crushed corn flakes and drizzle with melted butter.
  4. Bake uncovered at 325°F (163°C) for 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
