Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. double acting baking powder
  • 2 c. chopped California walnuts
  • confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease cookie sheets.
  3. In a large bowl with a mixer at medium speed, beat all ingredients except walnuts and confectioners sugar until well mixed, occasionally scraping the bowl with a rubber spatula.
  4. Stir in walnuts.
  5. Drop mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls, 1/2 inch apart, onto cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove cookies to wire racks; cool.
  8. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
