Ingredients

  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • a couple dashes of garlic powder
  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 12 oz. tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet until browned; drain off excess fat.
  2. Combine the cooked beef and onions in a 2-quart saucepan with juice from drained tomatoes and spices; bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add tomatoes and tomato paste to the sauce, bring to a boil again.
  5. Serve the chunky spaghetti sauce over cooked spaghetti.
