Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 2/3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2/3 cup coarsely chopped nuts
  • 3 1/3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter or margarine and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Stir in the eggs, pumpkin, and water until well combined.
  4. Blend in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and ground cloves.
  5. Stir in the coarsely chopped nuts.
  6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pans.
  7. Bake for approximately 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
