Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package Duncan Hines moist deluxe white cake mix
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • frozen whipped topping, thawed (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Arrange apple slices in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  3. Pour water over the apples.
  4. Combine cake mix, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon in a bowl.
