Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg-sized piece of butter
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, and butter (size of an egg) to form a batter.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the top of the batter.
  4. Dot the surface with small pieces of butter and add nuts if desired.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
