Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavored extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Combine butter, shortening, 3 cups of sugar, vanilla, almond extract, and butter-flavored extract in a large bowl; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Spoon the batter into a well-greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from the pan and cool completely before serving.
