Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup sunflower kernels
  • 1/3 cup wheat germ

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Add the oats, chocolate chips, flaked coconut, sunflower kernels, and wheat germ to the mixture and stir until evenly coated.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into two greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pans.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Cool on wire racks before cutting into bars.
