Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond extract

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar, beating well at medium speed.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Combine sifted cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix after each addition.
  5. Add vanilla and almond extracts, and mix.
  6. Pour the batter into three greased 9-inch pans.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 23 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
