- Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
- Place frozen hashbrowns in the pan with grated cheddar cheese.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 2 tablespoons melted margarine, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the potatoes and cheese.
- Gently mix to combine with the potatoes and cheese.
- Combine 2 tablespoons melted margarine with crushed cornflakes to make the topping.
- Sprinkle the cornflake mixture over the potato layer.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
