Ingredients

  • 1 medium head savoy cabbage
  • 24 oz. cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. sour cream
  • 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • about 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 1/4 cups rice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chicken seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cut the savoy cabbage into pieces similar to lettuce and cook in a small amount of salted water until tender.
  2. Drain the cooked cabbage thoroughly.
  3. Cook the rice in twice the amount of water, seasoning the water with chicken seasoning.
  4. Combine the cooked cabbage, rice, cottage cheese, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Spread half of the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch dish.
  6. Sprinkle half of the bread crumbs and grated Parmesan over the first layer.
  7. Repeat with the remaining mixture, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake the casserole at 350°F until the top is browned and the casserole is heated through.
