Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 6 hot dogs
  • 6 hot dog buns, toasted
  • Cheddar cheese
  • chopped onion

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped green pepper until the meat is browned.
  2. Drain excess fat, then stir in tomato sauce, drained kidney beans, chili powder, and brown sugar.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes.
  4. Cook hot dogs as usual.
  5. Place a hot dog in each toasted bun and top with the meat mixture.
  6. Add cheese, chopped onion, and relish as desired.
