Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup Crisco oil
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 2/3 cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the sugar, Crisco oil, pumpkin, and water; mix well.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased tube pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
