- Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix granulated sugar, margarine, vanilla, and egg until well combined.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and semi-sweet chocolate chips until the dough is stiff.
- Spread or pat the dough in an ungreased 12-inch pizza pan or cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the cookie pizza cool completely.
- Just before serving, spread whipped topping over the cooled cookie.
- Sprinkle with walnuts, shredded coconut, and candies or toppings of your choice.
- Cut into wedges and serve. Refrigerate any remaining portions.
