Ingredients

  • 7 oz. brown and serve sausage patties
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 16 oz. cornbread stuffing
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 1/2 cups apple juice
  • 1 1/4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 3-quart casserole dish.
  2. Cut sausage patties into pieces.
  3. Melt 1 tablespoon of margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add walnuts.
  4. Cook and stir until lightly browned, then remove nuts from the skillet.
  5. Melt the remaining margarine in the skillet.
  6. Add chopped celery and onion; cook until tender.
  7. In a large bowl, toss together sausage, walnuts, cooked celery and onion, cornbread stuffing, chopped apples.
  8. Add apple juice and water; stir together.
  9. Spoon mixture into the casserole dish and cover.
  10. Bake for 1 hour or until hot.
