  • 1 envelope green onion dip mix

Instructions

  1. Break the corned beef into chunks; put one-third into the blender container and blend until chopped.
  2. Transfer the chopped beef to a bowl.
  3. Repeat with the remaining beef until all is chopped and in the bowl.
  4. Put all other ingredients (cream cheese, mushrooms, milk, parsley, dip mix) into the blender and blend until smooth.
  5. Combine the blended mixture with the chopped beef and mix well.
  6. Mold the mixture into a small bowl, chill, then unmold before serving.

Tips & Substitutions

For a smoother texture, ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature before blending. If you prefer a bit more flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce or a dash of hot sauce. You can substitute the canned mushrooms with fresh sautéed mushrooms for a richer taste. For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese.

Serving Suggestions

This corned beef pate pairs beautifully with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or vegetable sticks for a delightful appetizer. Consider serving it alongside a simple salad or pickles for added crunch and flavor. This dish also makes a great addition to a charcuterie board, complementing other American recipes.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, allow the pate to come to room temperature before serving, as it is best enjoyed chilled. You can also serve it directly from the fridge for a refreshing appetizer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this pate ahead of time?

Absolutely! This corned beef pate can be prepared a day in advance. Simply mold it into shape, chill it overnight, and it will be ready to serve the next day. This makes it a great option for parties or gatherings.

What can I use instead of green onion dip mix?

If you don’t have green onion dip mix, you can create your own by mixing dried onion flakes, garlic powder, and a bit of salt. Alternatively, using ranch seasoning can also add a different but delicious flavor to the pate.

How can I enhance the flavor of this recipe?

To enhance the flavor, try adding some finely chopped fresh herbs like dill or chives. You can also incorporate a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness or a teaspoon of Dijon mustard for a tangy kick. Experimenting with these additions can elevate the overall taste.
