Sweet and comforting, this baked sweet potato dish features a rich syrupy flavor, topped with marshmallows and pecans, perfect for family gatherings or holiday dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3 1/2 cup) can sweet potatoes in heavy syrup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 10 large marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Drain syrup from the sweet potatoes.
  2. Mash the sweet potatoes and add milk, brown sugar or maple syrup, margarine, and salt.
  3. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Put the mixture into a shallow, greased baking dish.
  6. Top with halved marshmallows.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes or until marshmallows are browned on top.
