Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) can crabmeat
  • 6 tsp. butter or margarine
  • 3 tsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • dash of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 tsp. sherry
  • 1 1/2 c. half and half
  • 1/2 c. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano

Instructions

  1. In a double boiler, melt butter.
  2. Stir in flour, nutmeg, paprika, salt, sherry, half and half, and oregano.
  3. Add crabmeat and stir until thickened.
  4. Add mushrooms.
  5. Divide into individual oven plates.
  6. Sprinkle grated cheese over each.
  7. Place under broiler until cheese melts and mixture bubbles.
  8. Serve over rice or Chinese noodles.
