A creamy crab and cheese pie with a flaky pastry crust, seasoned with lemon and mustard, perfect for elegant dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 oz.)
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
  • 1 (7 1/2 oz.) can crabmeat, drained and flaked
  • 2 green onions, chopped with tops
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 cup dry mustard
  • dash of mace

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the bottom of the pastry shell.
  2. Top with drained and flaked crabmeat; sprinkle with chopped green onions.
  3. In a bowl, combine eggs, light cream, salt, grated lemon peel, dry mustard, and mace.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the crabmeat in the pastry shell.
  5. Top with almonds.
  6. Bake in a slow oven at 325°F for about 45 minutes or until set.
  7. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
