Cream Cheese Breakfast Roll is a delicious, indulgent pastry with a sweet cream cheese filling, perfect for a hearty breakfast or brunch treat for family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients the next day.
  2. Cut dough into 4 pieces and roll out each to dinner plate size.
  3. Spread one-quarter of the cream cheese mixture over each rolled-out dough piece.
  4. Roll up each piece into a log.
  5. Seal all seams and ends with the seam on the bottom.
  6. Place on a greased pan.
  7. Let rise until doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
  9. Frost with icing after baking.
