Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter or oleo
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine butter and water in a saucepan and stir over moderate heat until butter is melted.
  2. Turn the heat to low. Add the sifted flour all at once and stir vigorously for about 1 minute or until the mixture forms a ball and leaves the sides of the pan.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition with a wooden spoon or electric mixer on medium speed.
  5. Continue beating for 1 minute or until the mixture is satiny smooth and a spoonful breaks away sharply from the rest of the mixture.
