- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, forming two long rectangles.
- Overlap the long sides of the rectangles by 1/2 inch and press edges and perforations to seal.
- Roll the dough to form a 13 x 19-inch rectangle.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
- Blend in softened butter until well mixed.
- Spread the brown sugar mixture over half of the lengthwise dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
- Sprinkle ground pecans or walnuts over the sugar spread.
- Fold the dough in half lengthwise over the filling, pressing edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush the top with milk and sprinkle with additional brown sugar.
- Bake for 16 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes before slicing into strips and serving.
