Ingredients

  • 3 lb shredded cabbage
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 2 chopped green sweet peppers
  • 2 chopped red or orange sweet peppers
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 c vinegar
  • 1 c water
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 tsp mustard seed

Instructions

  1. Combine salt, vinegar, water, sugar, mustard seed and celery seed in a pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Pour the hot brine over the mixed vegetables.
  4. Chill the slaw in the refrigerator until thoroughly cooled.
  5. Store covered; it will keep indefinitely.
